406 Lucy

              406 Lucy Ave

The professional career of Aretha Franklin requires no elaboration, as she churned out iconic soul classics such as “Respect,” “A Natural Woman,” and “Think.” What is uncommonly known however, is that the Queen of Soul was born in a small humble shack at 406 Lucy Ave in south Memphis. It was here where she lived until the age of two, before her father Clarence moved her, her mother, and her siblings to Buffalo, New York, and later to Detroit, Michigan.
